Project Update #45: Good News and Bad News

Hello everyone,

I have good news and bad news to share.

First the bad news.

The factory contacted us and let us know that they cut the foil cards and the promo cards too small. Obviously, this is not acceptable as we cannot have two different sizes of cards in the game. We were pretty upset with this news and inquired about the reason. The bottom line is that an employee set a machine incorrectly. I still do not understand why they did not do a quality check on the first sheet that came off the press, but whatever, there is no sense in staying upset. I am still taking some deep breaths and at least they contacted us with the error before they shipped them.

We were planning on paying to airship these so we could ship everything together. That's not possible now.

The worst impact will be for EU customers. We need to ship everything together in the EU due to the contract we've already signed. The factory informed us that they will rush a reprint and it will be about 20 days (fingers crossed). I will keep everyone updated.

Now the good news.

The base games have arrived at port in the US and only need to clear customs. We are hoping to have them this week and will begin shipping them out (with playmats if you ordered one). We will ship the foils and the promo cards separately at our expense once they arrive.

I am REALLY sorry about this. I feel like we have let many of our customers down and thought we had plenty of runway built into our delivery dates.

I will not launch my next project until ALL the files are done and signed off on by our next manufacturer (it will be a different one). That way we can begin the manufacturing process while the KS is still running.

Again, I really apologize for the delay, especially for our EU backers. I will talk to Coolstuff about NOT releasing the game in the EU until you have your games.

Hello all,

I just wanted to give everyone a status on the shipping. Coolstuff has received the air shipment with the foils and the promos. So if you ordered them, they have started shipping out this week everywhere except the EU.

I am still trying to find out when our EU partner will receive theirs so they can start shipping. I will let you know as soon as I find out, but I am hoping it will be any day now. <fingers crossed>

If you find any manufacturing defect with your game we will replace the component(s) or the whole game if need be free of charge. Just be sure to use our customer service email:

The response from people who have been playing the game has been fantastic, please let us know what you think. And if you have any gameplay questions we will be glad to answer them for you. Just ask here, on BGG or on our Facebook page.

I love these dragons so much I think I have become addicted to bringing more of them to life. I have commissioned Kerem for more dragons to be used in a possible future expansion.

Here are some of the dragons we are testing out: If you want to use these abilities and play test these for us, you'll get a credit in a future expansion rulebook. You can just substitute one of your special dragons for one of the below using a piece of masking tape, or just use a reference a sheet.

Blood Resurrection When a Blood Dragon is played to a battlefield you may return any one dragon to your hand from the discard pile.
 Ranged attack = 0, Melee attack = 2, Shield value = 2

Blinding Light All ranged attacks on this battlefield made by your opponent are minus 1 as long as your Sun Dragon is on the battlefield. Ranged attack = 1, Melee attack = 2, Shield value = 2

Lunar Pull
 After you place a Moon Dragon on a battlefield you may immediately move any one of your dragons on any battlefield to any other battlefield. If the dragon you move has a ranged attack, you may use it. Ranged attack = 0, Melee attack = 2, Shield value = 2

Ice Dragon When you place an Ice Dragon opposite an opponent’s Battle Dragon it immediately does 1 automatic hit to the Battle Dragon. A battlefield may not be flipped where an Ice Dragon resides. Ranged attack = 0, Melee attack = 2, Shield value = 2
