Project Update #23: Progress Update

1. Battlefield cards = COMPLETE with larger text!
2. Battle cards = COMPLETE with updated layout!
3. Dragon cards = 95% COMPLETE, We just need the finished Celestial dragon art from Kerem and we can finish these up
4. Rules = 90% COMPLETE - one more round of editing
5. Rules Layout = 10% - Text and graphic examples have been passed to graphic design
6. Card Index sheet = 70% - text complete, proofreading and editing under way, then off to graphic design
7. Card Index sheet layout = 0% - This should not take Luis long as it is pretty straight forward
8. Print & Play = 80% We need all the cards completed and converted to before we can have the PnP laid out. The Battle For Souls and Gnomes PnPs are COMPLETE
9. Box design = 0% - We need art, text and graphic design done, this will be one of the last things we do
10. First Player Marker = COMPLETE - Luis has completed this
11. Create Print Ready files = 20%

Hello friends,

I have some good news and some bad news.

First, the good news.

The production of Draco Magi will be wrapping in about a week on July 15th. So we are making arrangements to get the 6000 games onto a cargo ship and headed to our fulfillment partners so we can get the games out to all of you. We will be fulfilling Kickstarter backers games first, then pre-orders and then we will sell into distribution. Here are some photos of the final game sent by the printer.

Now for the bad news. We may be looking at a two month delay for the foil cards.

We are simply not happy with the quality of the foil cards, and I am not willing to accept a subpar product. We are getting a new sample using a different process to see if we can get the quality to our expectations. So we may still be able to get them done on time. However, if not, we will need to order a special cardstock for the foil cards that will add around two months to the printing.

If this happens, we will still ship the base game, playmats and promo cards to all backers on schedule, but will need to send the foils later (at our expense) to those who ordered them.

Every backer will get every reward they have pledged for, it's just that the foil card upgrade packs may be later than we had hoped. I apologize and hope you agree that quality has to take precedence over speed.

In other news, Grey Fox Games, Richard and I just attended Dicetower Con in Orlando, and the response to the game was fantastic! I am very excited to get these out to you, and we are hoping to have at least a small number of copies air shipped home so we can show them off at Gen Con.

I will be demoing the game at Gen Con with the Grand Gaming Academy and with Grey Fox Games. So stop by and say hello and let us teach you the game if you are attending!
